CONCEPT: MARINE BIOLOGY

MARINE BIOLOGY IS THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF LIVING ORGANISMS IN THE OCEAN OR OTHER MARINE OR BRACKISH BODIES OF WATER, THAT ARE HOMES TO AQUATIC LIFE OF ALL SHAPES, SIZES AND FORMS. STUDYING THE WAY THEY LIVE, THEIR MOVEMENT AND THEIR ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY. BY INTERTWINING THE SCIENCE ASPECTS OF MARINE BIOLOGY AND THE FORM AND FUNCTION ASPECTS OF DESIGN, THIS APARTMENT WILL CREATE A HARMONIC ENVIRONMENT FOR THE CLIENT'S WANTS AND NEEDS. THE PRINCIPLES OF SYMMETRY AND BALANCE WILL BE APPLIED IN THE LAYOUT OF THE FLOOR PLAN ALONG WITH PROPORTION, RHYTHM, REPETITION, MOVEMENT AND EMPHASIS THROUGHOUT THE CUSTOM MADE FURNITURE. THE ELEMENTS OF TEXTURE, SHAPE, FORM, COLOR AND LIGHT ALLOW FOR THE MATERIALS TO FLOE WITH THE SPACE AND REALLY COME TO LIFE.

Macy's Competiton, "area for fragrance display to go in"

I wanted to choose a fragrance that would somewhat intrigue the customer, so i chose Gucci Envy. It's a fragrance made for both men and women, so when the men get dragged into the department store they'll have something to gander at as well as the women. lol

So with the space I've created a space fro the units to be placed in, allowing the customers to interact with the modular pieces as well as the separate room, that their placed in.

MY CONCEPT:

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF CHANGE? THE DICTIONARY STATES “TO MAKE THE FORM, NATURE, CONTENT, FUTURE COURSE, ECT., OF SOMETHING
DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IT IS OR FROM WHAT IT WOULD BE IF LEFT ALONE, TO CHANGE
ONE’S NAME; TO CHANGE ONE’S OPINION, TO CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY”. I DECIDED ON TWO WORDS TO BASE MY DESIGN . I CHOSE
METOMORPHOSIS AND RELATION. I WANTED TO CREATE A FUNCTIONAL PIECE OF ART THAT HAS THE ABILITY TO “CHANGE”.
BY FOOLING AROUND WITH A PIECE DESIGNED TO SHOW MOVEMENT, I THOUGHT WHY SHOULD PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE TO CHANGE
THEMSELVES TO BECOME A DIFFERENT IMAGE TO FIT ANY SETTING, ANY SITUATION, ANY EVENT. SO INSTEAD I FOCUSED ON THE EXACT OPPOSITE AND CREATED
A DISPLAY UNIT THAT CAN CHANGE TO FIT THE PEOPLE’S IMAGE, SOMETHING THAT CAN MOVE TO FIT ANY SETTING, ANY SITUATION, ANY EVENT.

BY CREATING A MODULAR PIECE THIS ALLOWS FOR THE EMPLOYEE TO BECOME THE TREND SETTER. WITH MULTIPLE PIECES HELD MAGNETICALLY TOGETHER
THE NEW DESIGNER CAN CREATE A DISPLAY STAND, CASE OR SHELVING UNIT TO SHOW OFF THE FRAGRANCE HOW THEY WANT THE PUBLIC TO VIEW IT.
THE ELEMENTS OF LINE, FORM AND TEXTURE ARE SEEN IN THE MATERIALS FOR THE MODULAR PIECES, AS WELL AS ANY PRINCIPLE THE DESIGNER
WOULD WANT TO SHOW.
WEATHER CHANGING THE DISPLAY UNIT ONCE A YEAR, ONCE A MONTH OR ONCE A WEEK, THE SELECTED FRAGRANCE WILL ALLOW YOU TO BE READY
FOR ANY SETTING, ANY SITUATION, ANY EVENT.

The Signage sculpture represents the 3 major sails on a Schooner.
And 3 major things to uplift the hearts of the patients. Hope, Love and Compassion.

There are three different signs to follow, one which is a small sign located in front of rooms for identification, and two larger scaled signs for outdoor as well as corridor placement.













Part of the Way finding method is to isolate different regions of the two buildings in a color grid, to help clients see clearly where they are needed to go.
